Any Ideas For Painting Clear Rattles?

Featured Replies

As the title states, my supplier ran out of black rattles so I ended up buying 200 clear rattles. I tried using rit dye but it didnt work. I need to come up with a method to paint these now, has anyone come up with a method?

Try permanent black magic marker. It will at least dull the clear. You can put several coats on after it dries. Let me know how that works for you.

The fastest method is stringing about 10 to 15 at a time on thin wire about 1" apart and spray paint them. Hang the wire to let dry. This will take about an hour to do 200 rattles.

Sounds like some good ideas, Im gonna it a shot. I'll post back with the method that worked best

If the paint or marker doesn't hold, try using 800 grit sandpaper and roughing the surface of the rattle some.  The paint will hold longer.

I used some thin gauge welding wire, strung up 60 rattles and used some spray paint, worked perfectly and only took 15 mins
