Does anyone have any opinions/experiences with these lures? Dick's ran a sale last week and I picked up one in a size 8, 10, and a jointed XJS-13.

love this bait, it is one of my favorite jerkbaits. I only use this and LC pointers, and the x-rap out performs the pointers on certain days.

The lure has a wonderful action in the water, but I have never caught a fish on the xrap. I normally ditch them and pick up a norman/jig/ or senko.

X-raps are very good right after ice out until the water hits the mid to upper 50's.  You can still catch fish on them after that but I think that is the best time.  As well as the fall when the water is falling back into the 50's and upper 40's.

LOVE the XRAPS! I have caught a good amount of fish in HIGHLY PRESSURED city lakes with these. I think that says something about the effectiveness of the lure. Just vary up the retrieves with twiches, pauses, or just rip the hell out of it. You'll love em. They are also really effective bed baits.

My favorite suspending jerkbait by far. I use them mostly with the water below 60 degrees though.

when I cant catch fish on anything else I go to an x-rap and it will usually turn a 3-4 fish day into a 10-15 fish day.

they have an excellent darting action.  Also check out the husky jerk model as well. Both are excellent jerkbaits.

I catch hundreds of fish on xraps both fresh and saltwater year round, they never fail.  That being said I can put on a $2.00 renegade, bomber or blaze minnow and be every bit as effective.  None of the lures have much longevity here.

X-Raps are my go to lures when everything else fails, great lure.

I have also had great success with this jerkbait and prefer it when choosing to fish this technique.

Not trying to get off topic, but like I said above I have had no luck with the xraps here in the Ohio River. However I have had fantastic luck with the Clackin Raps. You may want to check those out.

Great action, great baits! They are very versatile.. many ways to retrieve.

That is correct the Clackin Rap is a lipless crank, and the Xrap a jerkbait. I was speaking in terms of success out of Rapalas. My biggest producer from Rapala has been the Clackin.

Thats why I said not trying to get off topic because its not a jerkbait.

I really like the larger Husky Jerk baits... 

As for Xraps I have and use a ton of them. Fished slow and erratic seems to be the best way to generate strikes. Casting rod makes it much easier to work as well. 

The Smaller perch, olive green and bleeding olive flash have all produced well for me this year.

The larger jointed Xraps are superb Northern Pike lures... Again perch and bleeding Olive flash have produced well for me.

I caught a 4LB smallie on the gold XJS13 a month or so ago.

06 / 08 have caught the most fish for me... The giant ones work great for Pike though.

besides the Xrap the husky jerk is also a great suspending jerkbait good on bass and walleyes
