Yeah it really does.  I have seen pictures of a muskie that was caught 3 times and 2 times by the same person.  It had grown like 7 inches between the first time it was documented being caught and the third time.  I have also seen another muskie that was caught once at 52 inches and again at 54 by the same person, years apart.
