Trouble Uploading Pics...can A Mod Address This?

Featured Replies

Mods-I'm having trouble uploading pics.I'm getting a message down below when I try to upload pics

You can upload up to Uploading is not allowed of files (Max. single file size: 64MB)

Can someone address this for me, what does this indicate and why am I getting this message?

If your image file size exceeds 64mb (which would be insane if it does) it will not upload. Are you trying to upload a ton of pictures at one time?  To see the file size, just hover over the image with your mouse and it will say.  Do this in the folder or desktop, wherever it is stored on the pc.

Open the picture on your computer with Paint (right click, edit). Then, on the top, click image, then stretch/skew (or resize). Change the horizontal number to 50 (the others should follow suit). Either save and change that picture permanently, or "save as" and rename so you keep the original. This is a common occurance uploading pictures to BR because I assume Glen wants to keep the server storage space to a minimum.

Its telling me that on ALL topics I am trying to post regardless if I'm trying to upload a pic or not...

There's a spot that gives you the option of upgrading to flash 9 player as an upload tool...I click that and I get this:

You have exceeded your allotted disk space for attachments

So what's up with that...

What browser? Try deleting cookies/cache. There is a chance that the forum software still thinks you are trying to upload a picture.

But wait... you commented here fine. Does it only happen when trying to create a new topic?

Yea it only happens when I create a new topic...I can post the new topic just fine but at the bottom it gives me that message EVERYTIME

I tried on my android browser and google chrome...I've deleted cookies and cache even history...I've restarted my phone logged out of BR and logged back in...still get the same message. Looks like ill have to post to photobucket and upload an IMG file until this can be figured out...

Very strange. Are you certain the new topic message space is completely clear? Attachments show up as message text, but link to the picture. So if for whatever reason the "[sharedmedia=***]" is still in the message box, you will get the error.

Or it will have to be handled by a mod and I am absolutely wrong.

So ill try doing a screenshot so you can see what I'm up against...

i tried to reproduce on my phone and got "you can upload up to 750k of files".

This is a mod/Glen issue. Sorry I couldn't be of any help.

Sorry Glenn nothing changed...wonder what the issue could be...

Well congratulations. You're the first member to hit his maximum limit of filespace available for attachments.  I will raise it a bit to allow you to make your post, but you will need to remove some older attachments to make some room.

Alternately, you can open an album in the picture gallery, and then link to those pictures in your posts.

Well dang Glenn I had no idea about that...I'm sorry...it wasn't intentional...so does that mean I gotta go through all my posts and delete the pics?...how does that work?

  • BassResource.com Administrator

Please visit your Profile page > Edit My Profile > Manage Attachments tab. There you can select which attachments you would like to remove.

You broke the site. I think a time out is in order.

I had no idea about the pics being stored like that. I did as Glenn suggested and WOW there were some old ones in there. I've deleted a lot of them. Now that I'm aware of this feature...it will be a great help in the future.

Glad you asked this question airborne. I was having he same problem but just used photobucket as a way around it.

Thanks for the info Glenn cleared some pics out now I should be good to go!

No problem.  And again, there's no need to remove attachments or use Photobucket if you don't want to. Just click the "pictures" link in the top nav and start a Gallery.  You can then embed your uploaded pictures in your posts by clicking "My Media" just above the text area when you're creating a post.

You don't need to sign up for anything for this - you already have an account here, and it's included in your account.

Hope that helps!

Glenn

Or, maybe a gold medal.  This is no small feat.  Or is it feet?  Or is it fete?
