13 Omen In M Or Mh

Featured Replies

For you guys who have used them which of these actions would you recommend?  I just bought a Abu Garcia Veritas 7'3 in MH.  I have heard they run kinda stiff so i'm not sure I wanna have 2 Texas rig rods with the same ratings. 90% of the time I throw 1/4 oz. weight with a baby brush hog or a 7.5" culprit worm.  I was thinking a 7'1 model with medium action since I have heard the *** run true to rating.  I primarily fish on open to medium heavy rocks and logs/ stumps type waters.

medium would be perfect for you. I have both and they run very true to their rating.

Will they let you return that MH for a Med ? Are you talking about a 1/4oz bullet weight or is 1/4 oz total weight of the bait ?

I've got the 7'1 mh. I've pitched 1/4oz trigs and jigs and it's worked fine around wood cover. Plenty of power so far with fish up to 5 lbs

Sorry 1/4 oz bullet weights on my brush hogs and worms.

I have a 7'1 MH fast and it's not as stiff as my 7ft MH Veritas was. For plastics and jigs even, the MH *** is IMO perfect.

I'd get the MH ,I throw worms with a 1/8oz tungsten ,15 lb yo-zuri hybrid ,no problems.

imo better to have it and not need ,than not have it and need it.

If your throwing in light to no cover the Medium will be perfect. I use the 7' 3" M/F for fishing 5/16oz swim jigs and have absolutely no problems with it.

Fireguy, just by the M and MH. These rods are so good, you'll end up buying more than one anyway lol.

I just bought the medium 7'1" and it's perfect! I use 1/8th bullet weights the majority of the time and glad I didn't go with mh! With that being said i will order a medium heavy soon for 3/8 jigs!!! Awesome rods!!

If I wouldn't have bought the Veritas I would, but I think a MH will probably do better for me right now since I am doing alot of bank fishing.  I just wasn't to sure if I wanted 2 MH rods.

I grabbed a 6 something M/F for jerkbaits. It's definitely a weird tod to get used to. It's super stiff for the cast but when I whip for the retrieve it has a great flex. Haven't caught a fish on it yet but I'm assuming when I go to whip it back it will set the trebles without a problem. I would like to try a *** around 7 mh for spinnerbaits.

Drove from Nashville to Gander Mt. In KY to look at Lews reels and *** rods. They didnt have 1 7'1 MH only M!  I almost picked one up but after handling it I think MH will be my best bet. They only had 1 Lews Tour Pro SS! But I really liked how small and low profile it was.

How'd you like the feel of the rod?

I thought it was very light with alot thinner overall profile then my Veritas.  I felt like the tip of the M flex needed to be a bit stiffer for my needs, thats why I think the MH will be the ticket for me. But I really like the feel.

what you are describing is the rod's action. fast, extra fast etc.

I emailed the guys at 13 and they quickly got back to me. They recommended a 7'3 MH. They are a tad but more but hey, it may be worth it.
