Nice Job ~

That bass certainly choked that one down.

Must have been quite a battle - you lost a shoe !

He was in good and I was about to wade out and grab him when he shook free. Had about 20 blow ups but only able to land a few. Its some thick stuff! I'm just glad to see my old honey hole coming back after being drained a few years ago.

Same thing happened to me. It was just a shallow pond/marsh no deeper than 6-7 feet deep and several acres completely surrounded by willow trees and brimming with vegetation and big bass. You can't see the vegetation in the picture very well because it was early in the year and it hadn't grown to the surface past the willows yet but the willows were all the way around the thing and it was just an amazing fishery, until the state decided to drain it  :cry3:

Well this one had been drained to rebuild the dam that had seen some issues several years back during some heavy flooding. The work was completeded a few years ago and restocked. It was reopened to fishing last year, but this was my first trip back for fishing. I was very glad to see the vegetation back so strong.
