One of my best-producing techniques is a shaky head worm or craw, but I've wondered about using creature baits. I'm sure a big creature bait like a Brush Hog on a larger shaky head gives the bass a different look. Anyone had a lot of success rigging creature baits this way?

I have thrown baby brush hogs and beaver type baits on shakey heads and have had alot of success. I throw the shakey head quite frequently so that may be part of the success. But it does work quite well.

Have not done it in a while but it sure does work!

Baby brush hog is a great bait on a shakyhead as is the smaller size BPS crack craw. 

Other than the fact that all that plastic is a bit heavier, I don't see why it wouldn't work. I'd opt for a bait with little or no salt. 

Many moons ago, I would fashion my own 'creatures' by melting various baits, or parts of them, together and fiah them on a stand up style jig head similar to todays shakey heads.  Had a lot of succes both on smallies fishing hard bottoms and on LM in the weeds.

Yep. Throw anything on a shaky head.

 

Don't limit yourself to only finesse worms.

 

Think out of the box.

 

I love to throw all types of plastics on a shaky head.

 

I use the jig head as a "fancy" Texas rig and pitch, flip and cast it all over the place.

 

Smear some MegaStrike on your plastics; dip the last 1/4 inch of the plastic's tail in JJs Magic and start casting away.

Right now one of my favorites is a Rage Menace.  I do throw just about everything on them.
