What Crankbait Was Evers Using On The Alabama River

Featured Replies

This is from the Bassmaster web site:

His go-to lures were a War Eagle Spot Remover spinnerbait in a shad color, a Texas-rigged Zoom Z-Hog Jr., and various crankbaits. His flipping line was a Bass Pro Shops braid with a 20-pound fluorocarbon leader.

Yeah I read several articles from the web and none of them state what bait he was actually throwing. Found that odd. It must be a bait from a company that does not sponsor him.

It looked to me like he was using Bomber Fat Free Shads, from his old hard bait sponsor. That's why he didn't give specifics. He signed with Megabass right before the season started, he probably didn't have much time to grow comfortable with their baits.

That makes sense. Did not realize Megabass was now a sponsor.

That might not be right but that's all I could figure out. I watched the broadcast closely to see what he was using but it was hard to tell, it seems logical that he would use the baits he's been using for the last 10 years.

Edwin was with Pradco for years. They make Bomber, Yum, Booyah, Rebel and several others. Right before the season started he signed with Zoom, War Eagle and Megabass. Megabass is his new hard bait sponsor but I can totally see it taking some time to get used to their crankbaits and how they run.

Didn't even really realize he was no longer with YUM this year till you mentioned it.
