Fishing El Dorado In The Morning

Featured Replies

I'm gonna bank fish El Dorado, KS in the morning. Not necessarily just for bass; I'd happily take crappie or bluegill if they are biting. However, I was warned that all of the decaying trees in the lake can make it somewhat toxic for the fish- is that true of the lake? Anyone have any tips to fish it?

I've fished El Dorado once.  Struck out.  I've heard that people do fairly decent from the rock jetties near the SW boat ramp near the dam. Boulder Bluff I believe.  The Ramp is closed, but you should still be able to bank fish.  Good Luck

I have caught a few nice ones (below) near the dam, one was on a ned rig and one was on a swim jig.

How did El Dorado go?

I have had a little luck fishing around the boat dock and on the back side of it.   Most of it should be accessible from shore.  The other area of the lake that many people fish from shore is referred to as the fingers, they are the rock jetties on the SW corner of the dam.   I don't care for the fishing at El Dorado, but wish you the best of luck.
