Anyone care to share their experiences with this bait...good, bad or otherwise?

Pretty much like any other "Bug" bait :D

I'm more interested in the "jointed" jig head he was using.

Any of the baits above would suffice.

Yeah that new head looks like it will give a little more life to whatever plastic bait you put on it. I'm interested in trying one.

It's a custom one Biffle has made that hinges somehow, when interviewed he said that made a lot of difference for him in his win. Gene Larew supposedly is negotiating with the jig head maker to produce the bait for his bait co. I havn't seen a good picture of one yet.

Bass Zone post show interview with Biffle showed a close up of the bait.

Yeah, I saw a small picture of it last week but he had a bait rigged on it and I couldn't actually see just the head & hook like I wanted to. I liked what I saw though.

It is an Arkie Football Shakey Head with a wide gap owner hook on it instead of the worm hook that comes on it from Arkie.

Chris has the inside information.  So you just put the biffle bug on this set up?

That's not what so special about the jighead according to Biffle..it has a hinge as he refers to it. Larew would not have to negotiate with the custom maker of this head to make the jig head you described.

Arkie & Gene Larew! That's interesting considering Larew sued Arkie back in the day.

From what I've heard about it, it's got some type of hinge or swivel that allows the bait to move a little better on the hook. What you decribed isn't really anything 'new'.....just a shaky head with a wide gap hook. I have a box full of those already.

This is what they are talking about :D

It's funny how the smallest idea can turn into a huge production.

HA...Yeah and you can bet the custom maker that was making them for Biffle is going to do very well off of this deal.If I were him I would sell it to Larew but insist on  a piece of the action.

Those arkie heads have been sold at my local Wal Mart for about 2 years now. Also, I read somewhere that Larew is going to start to market them.

Yep that is it from Arkie, he just put a different hook on it, I could have showed you one but I only had 2 of them and lost my last one last night. It worked really well with a Biffle Bug or a Sweet Beaver.

Has anybody tried these out yet? I went and bought a pack. (gotta support the local man) I've had good success with them. Haven't caught quite the number I do on senkos but the quality of the fish are much better.  Just went to the pond and in a ten minute period caught 3 fish with the smallest being probably about 2 pounds and the biggest being about 3.5 pounds.  I don't think I've caught any in the pond with the senko over 2 pounds this summer, but have had multiple fish over 2 pounds with the biffle bug.

The old and original OKlahoma produced Hart Tackle used to offer something similar to that jig called a "swivel jig". Came in a blister pack with a plastic craw attached.

Anyone else remember these? They were made in Stratford, OKlahoma along with the entire Hart line at that time.

Here's a couple of pics of one of the old "swivel jigs" I found in my back stock. It came rigged with a Tru-Turn Brute hook.
