I second that. Tomato and 'Fire and Ice' are the colors I prefer

1/2 oz jig blue/black or some kind of brown/pumpkin seed/ redish colors with matching chigger craw trailers

To me most versatile lure I use

Green pumpkin, red bug,June bug and black never fail me. Academy had there powerbait on sale last week, so I got a few odd colors to see if I can find a niche

I have a few for each season.

Winter- Jerkbait, Hair Jig, Shaky Head

Spring- Crankbait, Swim Jig, Spinnerbait, Swimbait

Summer- Jig, Frog, Fluke

Fall- Lipless Crank, Swimbait, Jig

Springtime,

Topwater, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, inline spinners, pre spawn lizzards.

Summer (as it heats up)

Topwater (early), plastic worms, creature baits, jig & pig,

Fall,

Swimbaits, crankbaits, inline spinners.

The old timers tell me in the spring they fish lakes and ponds, in the hot summer they switch to fishing in rivers, in the fall it's back to the lakes and ponds. Fishing from shore it makes sense to me.
