Favorite Lures Or Bait

Featured Replies

This time of year in New York all I use is roboworms. Texas rigged or dropshot. Aaron's magic is my favorite color

Another vote for T-rig. Most time a 3/16.oz with 7.5" worm is in hand or close by ;-)

Texas rigged plastic ;)

this, and a wacky rigged senko. :)

Swimbaits, spinnerbaits, jig and pig...

My current favorite bait is my home made jika rigs/ baited with a brush hog or a zellemander lizard.

Month of July stats are as follows.  4 July trips.  Jika rig - 17 keepers (15" and up, largest a 21" 5 lb or so fish) and an additional 40 or so slot fish (12" to 15")  All other rigs, (deep & shallow cranks, spinner baits, chatter baits, Eakins Jig, tx rigged senko, wacky rigged senko, rattle trap type bait) 40 or so slot fish, 1 keeper (17" on tx rigged senko)

My home made jika rigs weigh out from 13 to 17 grams, which is roughly 3.8 to 5/8 oz.  All the keeper fish came from 10 to 17 feet of water.  The majority of the slot fish were a little shallower.

Favorite thing to throw is a spinnerbait/chatterbait or swim jig..

My Most productive and confidence bait is zoom baby brush hog 4/0 hook and a 1/8 tungsten weight..
