Big Stick Worms

Recommended Posts

I am in the market for a big stick worm (12" and up) but I am unaware of any out there, can anyone point me in the right direction? If there isn't one out there i can always mold it and pour it myself i won't be pouring plastics for a while though and want to try some before that

They make 7" stick baits that are pretty beefy I can't imagine going up to a 12"

that's because you aren't a swimbaiter like vikingbear. ;)

Deps makes a 13" worm that is great on a wacky rig if you can get it. Its the kincoo. Does it have to be a stickbait? Uptons customs makes some 9-13" worms that you would do pretty well wacky rigging. Just make sure you get some surgical tubing to slide on the bait. Put the hook through both sides and in the bait to make sure it doesn't rip off from bluegill and dink nibbles.

You might have to go with a custom pour if it has to be a stick worm. Uptons have straight tail worms up to 19" on TW.

You'd most likely need to go with a custom pour haha I've looked into it but I haven't found much.

Been doing it for a while myself....Deadly in shallow pads, You can even add the middle of a 3rd stickbait if you're inclined. If you want a bulkier version, the largest strike king ocho is an option. Wave worms also made a fatter version of the tiki stick also, but the name escapes me.

Has anyone tried the BPS 7 1/4" stick o worms?? There the diameter of three smaller stick o worms/senkos.

I didn't look at them before I threw them in my tackle box. When I got to fishing them the biggest hook I had was a 3/0. Way too small for this larger diameter senko type bait. I tried it anyway. I had the biggest bass I have ever seen way larger than my PB. it had my 7 1/4" stick o worm in its mouth. I prayed do I try to set the hook

or not. I tried and she spit it. I could see all the action right in front of me at the drop off. I twitched it all the way to shore. My presentation was flawless. I would lift it slowly and twitch the rod tip as it falls. Once it hit the bottom I would repeat it all the way to shore.

You can still find the olde monster worms and the culprit 10" & 12" worms too. I know your stick worms have different tails.

How well do the joints hold?

The way mend it works (which is the glue I use) it actually melts the soft plastic together which makes the joints basically as strong as any other part of the lure. I have used it on other things namely much bigger and heavier soft swimbaits and never had an issue with an area I glued being weak

Doc Irv (custom guy) does a 10" senko that's a beast. One has the same amount of plastic as five 5" senkos. I dig mine.
