I May Never Cast Again

Featured Replies

I went out yesterday and found a slew way back in the north end of the lake and it was flooded grass and pads and weeds everywhere. i pickked up my 6'8" mh and started pitching i caught 12 3+lbers in 15 pitches and i don't even know how many smaller fish .

i felt like ish monroe on the delta i don't think i made a single overhand cast all day.

man pitching is so addicting. Almost feels like hand. to hand combat. The rush of a perfectly placed pitch and seeing the grass move then that THUMP! man got my heart racing just thinking about it lol.

When its hot its hot, when its not its not!

Ya better ride that horse til it dies ;)

Can  you please post GPS coordinates?   I agree, pitching is fun.

you're going to be like my buddy. He will pitch at a piece of cover for an hour if I let him. That's all he wants to do, but I'm the opposite. I have to be chucking and winding. I do pitch, but its definitely not my favorite way to fish.

I'd much rather pitch than cast also, probably because it's target fishing and usually involves stout gear.

When I'm by myself or with friends just putzing around thats all I do..

"Almost feels like hand to hand combat" pretty much sum's it up for me too.

Fishing tournaments down here in Florida most every boater will end up fippin and pitchin at some part of the day also.

Because of that most of my equipment is pretty much all Heavy and Med Heavy rated.

From shore I cast. From the boat I pitch/flip.

I became addicted to pitching jigs around shallow cover 5-6 years ago and to this day it's still by far my favorite way to fish.

I'm addicted to it too. I get out in the front yard and practice all the time. I get bored easily and it passes the time.

Glad I'm not the only one...

That's a great Day man! Pitching is awesome I typical pitch after I pitch haha. I'm a baseball player so my arm gets sore and that's the only way I can fish...

Pitchin is very fun but my local lakes have no vegetation whatsoever so i don't get to pitch often.. My favorite technique is small t-rigs and 1/4 oz jigs. Love the hard hooks sets

Lol. At first my neighbors would look at me funny, but now they wave and go about their business. I've had two come over and ask me how to pitch jigs.

Haha... I cut off the hook on a 1/2oz jig and my dog thinks it's a you so he'll run after it and bike it, gets him exercise and gets me practice.
