I'm taking them.  Have talked to Henry and will meet on the ramp Sat AM for a practice day.  Friends did favors for my late son when I was unavailable.  My turn to return the favor to someone.

Got to hit Rayburn today and found some nice fish. Probably caught 30+ fish. Got on a trap bite early in the AM and went flipping later in the day. Had one of the best days I've had in a while, best f

Yeah true. I leave Sunday and I'm going to be there for a whole week. Gonna be so hot! But I'm in New York right now fishing for smallies

Well I haven't been on here in a while but have got to get a little lake time in the last couple of weekends. Last weekend I won a small club tourney with a little less than 13 lbs, ten boats fished it and only 4 teams weighed in and the bite was tough! Went out today with the wife and wore out some quality fish. I caught 6-7 fish over 5 pounds, my biggest five would have went 25-30lbs. With the lake dropping like a rock I would have figured the fished would have moved out but went with my gut and started shallow frogging and flipping! Caught a couple nice ones flipping but got on a solid frog bite by 8 am and wore em out!

Welcome back Red

looks like an excellent day fishing, you sure those ain't the wife's fish! Lol

im headed that way after work Friday, will let you know if I have as much luck with my frog as you did

thanks for the info

Funny you say that Rob, my wife was with me and she just couldn't believe how big the fish were and how many! It was fun for sure! If only I could do it in a tournament, doesn't ever go that way on Saturdays though!

How's the fishing going on big Sam ain't seeing no reports  hope that means everybody busy catching fish .  Hoping to get back up there soon .

There the week before last and the frog bite is still good around the hay grass. Since the lake went back to normal pool and now about 1 foot low the green hay grass is everywhere. There is also a lot of schooling bass around the grass and actually all over the lake on points etc. Had the wife with me so I let her catch plenty of schoolers with a couple of 3 pounder mixed in most of the time we were there. Graphed out deeper 25 ft. range several places and there was not much going on out deep. Did catch one here and there out deep but never more than one in a location and not very big. That's why we spent more time shallow.

I really don't know big Sam that well been jumping around from mid to south end not much on north, but i want to  start constratring on one end of lake what do y'all think be best end north , mid or south  and why

Fished Rayburn is morning.  Had 2 good fish wrap me up on a frog in the willows.  No bites on the outside hay grass, but got a few way back up in the gnarly stuff.  Then I went deep and found quite a few fish. They were hard to get to fire up, but we managed to do decent. Our big fish went 8.43lbs. Most fish were on main lake ledges in 18-22ft caught on a Carolina rig and drop shot.

I went out Wednesday morning, nice overcast skies, got on a decent frog bite. Caught 3 real quick, biggest 5 lb, others was 4 and a 2 1/2

i stayed shallow an caught a few more keepers on a senko and a craw.

Went out Saturday and had a good day.  My fishing partner (wife) and I put 9 fish in the boat, all were caught in 5ft or less. Three fish over 3.5.  The biggest one (6.5lb) was caught in 2.2 feet of water. All were caught with a 10" zoom worm.  TX rig

That's a nice haul wormaster. I'm heading that way next week, a buddy wants to fish some. I'll start shallow for sure, haven't learned the off shore stuff yet. It's been an unusual summer, I've caught nice solid fish shallow all summer. It's easing into the best time of year for me, love me some fall fishing!!

Hosted a tournament this past weekend out of cassel Boykin. There were some nice stringers weight in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd were 19.22, 18.10, and 17.86! Big bass was 7.89. Personally I didn't catch very many. I started at the island in Mud caught my first within the first 5 minutes on a frog and missed another right after on a frog. The rest of the day was pretty much just me throwing what ever I could think of and not getting a bite. I moved from Mud to Peckerwood, Bird Island, Hog, Indian and finished at the back of cassel Boykin. Needless to say I didn't end up weighing in my 2 fish I caught cause I knew 3 other teams that had a limit. Any tips for this fall would be much appreciated!

What's the fish doing on Rayburn? Shallows bite is hit and miss and so is the deep bite. Am I missing something or do they have lock jaw right now?

headed to rayburn tues-thursday for first time ever. Need some help.  Gonna stay on west side of lake.  Thanks in advance

Fishing is slow.  caught Fisher from 2 ft to 25 ft.  bigger ones deep on c-rig. nothing over 4lbs. no frog bite

I'll be there tomorrow thru Saturday.

I have been reading a thread on another forum that I'm not a member of and it's about whether a 20 lb bass could be taken from a Texas lake. While I'm reading this a lot of people are commenting about how the trout population is why the bass get so large out west! I agree 100% about the trout! IMO I think the chances of catching a 20 lb bass in public waters in Texas are slim to none but not completely unrealistic! Me and a buddy of mine were fishing this past Friday and starting seeing these huge schools of something, couldn't get close enough to see it! Then off in the distance a huge bass comes out of the water busting on these schools, we put the trolling motor on high and head over to see if we can hook this giant! So when we get over there we start cast at this school of something and then I snag whatever this school is! It's the biggest gizzard shad I've ever seen in my life! They are huge! I just wanted to share this with y'all to see if I just seen something amazing or over exaggerating, but to see a bass feeding on these giants!

I saw some of those shad too in Veach.

I I ended up finishing 5th in the Keith Combs tournament today with 24.05lbs.  Had 30lbs on, but lost a 7 at the boat and had another huge fish break me off.  Fish are scattered everywhere, but all my weight came deep.
