Beaver Lake Ar And Stripers

Featured Replies

Has anyone fished for stripers on Beaver Lake in the last few days?  I'll be heading there this Friday to attempt to catch a few.  Right now the few reports I've read say they are mostly holding at 35-40 fow.

I've have an Arig tied up and a spoon.  I'm looking for any help.

Had a tournament on beaver last weekend. The bite seemed to be, from the guys I was talking to, in the 25-35 range and fast moving baits, anywhere they were finding large pods of shad they would pick off a striper or two. They were also doing very well on 1/2 ounce buck tail jigs around the humps and points, and they're catching a few fish on a spooks/rovers.

I was hoping this topic would die. LOL

Stripers-  Nada.  We tried trolling, casting, and drifting live bait.    That deep water striper fishing is out of my realm.

We did catch a bunch of catfish and a few KY's and Smallies.  All the fish were approx 35 ft deep.  Right on the thermocline.  It was tough.  I'll be going back in the spring hopefully when the Stripers are hitting topwater..

We caught some stripers casting Arigs in early April this year. No monsters but up to 20lbs. Also had lots of largemouth to 6lbs, smallmouth to 4.5, 3lb spots, wipers to 6.5, and some of the biggest white bass I've ever seen. There was some brief topwater action while we were there but this cold spring seemed like everything was behind schedule.

That is what we will be shooting for BlueBasser86 on our next trip.  I'll follow the reports to see when the topwater is going great.
