Siebert Outdoors 1 1/4Oz Punch Jig

Featured Replies

Ok I just ordered the Siebert 1 1/4oz punch jigs. My question is about setting them up. Can braid be used for the leader? What kind of hook do you use? Weedless?

I'm totally new to these. Thanks, bill

For punching.  Braid main line all the way.  No leader.  I'd go with 65-80lb braid.  Flipping hook with a snell knot is the norm.  Then Texas Rig it.

X2 you'll love them. Mustad flipping hook is a good choice.

I guess I need to dedicate one rod setup to punching jigs.

I use the same rod I do for pitching heavy jigs.

I was just thinking that one rod setup for punching and the heavier jigs.

My two sons(39yo & 32yo) are looking at my new jigs as I'm telling them that jigs are another hot lure for bass. Sounds like maybe Santa will bring them this year.

1 setup is fine. I do the same thing. Punch season is done up by me but jigs are good year round.
