For finding what's under me - contour, structure, etc., yes. For fish, not really. But the former leads to the latter.

I most definitely believe in them. If you know how to read them, you can watch your bait go down and see the fish approach it. I have a Lowrance HDS 9T on the bow of my boat and a Lowrance HDS 10 at the console. StructureScan is awesome
