Hows everyone feel about the panther martin lures and spinners?Whats your favorite and how do you fish them?

They work on trout, bass, and pickerel. Pick your color they all work. I prefer all black with orange dots, the black/yellow dots, and the yellow/black dots. Can't forget the Rainbow trout color! Any size.

 

I prefer these much over the rooster tails because it takes the least amount of effort to make them spin whereas roosters blades with ride under the body and not spin.

got myself a rainbow color cant wait to really try it out this weekend with trout and salmon. Ive used a lot of other spinners

and usually I like them all. These however have a much different design.

i use the 1/16 and 1/8 for stream trout. black/gold or silver/black /w orange hair. great little baits that have a fantastic blade that never fails. they aren't a tough bait. each and every time out the wire on mine bends in one direction or another after a few fish but they sure do work.

how do you think a 1/8th would do in ponds?

i would guess it would catch everything in there. should have a field day with one.

X3. Panther Martins are my favorite inline spinner. They cast well, have very good hooks and catch almost anything that swims.

I like the brass/gold colored ones dressed with a feather treble.  They kill in creeks/streams/rivers here.  Father's day this year I probably caught 60 fish in two hours with rebel craws and panther martin spinners.

My hottest one so far is the silver blade with the yellow tail. Every fish here tries to rip it off my line. The river bass love this lure. I have one Plano 3600 box with just about every panther Martin made. It's in my soft sided boat bag. This lure is on my variety of lures to throw list.

With fishing the dropoffs in the evenings we use the PM with the yellow blades with the black dots with some scent for catfish.

X4. I gave up on rooster tails. When fishing for native or wild trout, it's important to make the first cast count. If the blade doesn't spin, you're outta luck. Panther Martins have never given me problems. I've talked to many fisherman who swear by them.

I, too, think panther martin stand head and shoulders above rooster tails (and a little higher than Mepps).

 

How did you do on Saturday?

Black with yellow dots has been a killer for smallies in this area.

I use the rooster tail with a silver blade, white or white with black dots and a white tail for trout. (Stocked)

I also use the Joe's fly in short striker in blackgnat. This mimics those black bugs that fall out of the trees into the water. While cleaning many trout over the many years caught in the same area these black bugs were in there belly. I seen these black bugs climbing on the trees too.

You can try out Blue Fox too

I've always used Rooster Tails and Blue Foxes, I'll have to tryout some Panthers.  I prefer Blue Fox though, I've never had a problem getting them to spin where the Rooster Tails you have to give them a pop to get them to start spinning.
