If all the above is a must have. Huntsville Al would fit the bill. Airport , NASA is there and miles of city. But water in town you can fish. Within 1.5 hours of Chattanooga and fishing there. Or the same to Tn and Pickwick Dam. Or 30 miles to Some of the best fishing around.

But if your hunting a low cost of living and no State income tax and fishing that is great. Pickwick, Counce Tn or near there is hard to beat. Not much here, Other then a paper mill, Small Pipe Steel mill, Million dollar boats. 

But for an airport memphis is 1 hour 35 minutes away.

Me and the wife live in Solway..just outside Knoxville. Great neighbors, great fishing (all year)(winter my favorite) Do not want to move back to Oregon!!

I've been looking at the Knoxville area on Google Earth; I've found ramps with lots of bass boats which tells me there must be clubs around the area. can you tell me what they make at Alcoa?

Alcoa makes rolls of sheet aluminum for cans (beer, coke cans). They also pour small pigs to sell. They use to make raw aluminum from boxite ore, but they closed that part of the south plant in 2009. There is some decent fishing in that area, but I would highly recommend looking at the Chattanooga, Cleveland, Dayton triangle area. The fishing is 10x better.
