From Ios To Android

Recommended Posts

What a difference, been using ios on the iPhone 4 since it came out and I became use to the functionality of it but also frustrated with the limited capabilities. I missed the customizations, with ios you get what they want you to like and that's it, coming from the pc windows world I like options. I wanted change and the nail in the coffin was when apple decided to add a app row instead of making their screen larger like everyone wanted.

I went with a Galaxy Note 3, I know go big or go home right :D Huge change and after 5 days I've barely scratched the surface with the whole system. The screen size is nuts, after the first day I tried to go back to the iphone and it was so small, it really shows how small the screen was.

Between the two what I miss with the iphone is the fluidity and refinement/quality of apps. I also have to relearn input since I'm use to the ios and the two operation systems are very different. I'm sold for now and every day I find something else I like more about it.

Do you keep the note 3 in your murse? When I upgraded, there was no way I could put the note 3 in my pocket. I don't see how anyone who does anything could even carry one on them.

The word "murse" should be outlawed.  For the uninitiated, it means "man's purse."  Real men don't carry murses or purses.  They can carry briefcases, duffle bags, back-packs, ruck-sacks, tackle bags or boxes, creels, paper bags, trash bags, or anything else under the sun that does not, even remotely, look like a purse. :wiseman:

A real man carries what ever he wants.

I'm not in the market I have year left on my contract, but I'm totally comfortable with the operation and size of my android.  Mine has a 4.3 screen and the overall dimensions fit nicely in my hands, I carry it in a belt case.  The future may hold a larger phone for me.  Not withstanding to any phone operating system I would not have a car without bluetooth with on screen operation.

Being 6'2" means I have big pockets. I can fit a laptop in my pockets!

What about a satchel? Indiana Jones carried one.

The Note 3 is a great phone. A little on the large size for me. I like to carry my phone on my belt and the S4 I have is about the max for that, at least for me.

I spent the holidays with some of my family, and they are mostly iPhone users. They all came away with a serious of case of Android-*** after seeing my S4 and it's larger screen.

Check out some of the launchers for your phone. I use Nova mostly. Let's you customize how many apps you can get per screen. I'm running 6 high by 5 wide on my S4, not including the fixed row at the bottom.

i like my iPhone 5s and wouldn't trade it for the larger screen of the S4s or any of the other models.  The pocket thing is important to me and if i need a larger screen i will just use my iPad instead lol

< This guy doesn't do Apple products.

I've been a Droid faithful since the first one came out.  Looking forward to a Droid 5 if they ever release one.

Don't get me wrong I liked my iPhone too, but functionality comes first, then I can worry about size. It was limited with what I needed.

Before I smartphone'd up I didn't either, the iPhone made the exception with its easy user interface and doing a good amount of things I needed done easily. As I grew with time my phone didn't. So in the beginning it was fantastic, now I pick it up after using a an android and the small screen is first obstacle.

Priceless. Just laughed my butt off.

Before I upgraded phones, my wife let me use her iPhone for a few days to see if I liked it in case I made the switch to iPhone... Couldn't do it. Upgraded phone but stuck with android. Give it time, you will fall in love

I have a razr maxx and it operates beautifully even considering the processor is not the fastest.  I did find other phones that I felt had a sharper, crisper display but they felt awkward in my hand, the maxx fits exceptionally well.

I have yet to jump on the tablet bandwagon, if certain phones are a bit large for mobility, a tablet is not a tool I would find useful.  My home computer is my real workhorse.
