St. Croix Ltb Vs G.loomis Imx Vs Falcon Cara T7

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Rod will be used with 3/16-1/2oz T-rigs. Wife got me a gift card at Bass Pro and Ive got the following rods

coming to store so i will be able to check them out this weekend, been using a Carbonlite 6'9"MH Xfast and love it. Thanks for your help deciding between the following:

St.Croix LTB

6'8" M XFast

6'8" MH Fast

G.Loomis IMX

7' MH Fast

Falcon Cara T7

6'7"MH XFast

6'6" MH Fast

Personally I'd go with the TBC68MHF, but that being said all my rods at St Croix. Another good one is the TBC71MHXF (Little more then you min rating).

The IMX MBR844C is what made G. Loomis long before GLX or NRX were introduced.

This could be your favorite rod!

I have a 6"8 my fast LTB and love it I fish jigs and Texas rig on it and love it.

I like at least a 7' rod for fishing t-rigs so I would go with the IMX, also it will be a very noticeable increase in sensitivity compared to the carbonlite(which is also a nice rod).

The Loomis MBR843 IMX C is my favorite all around rod. It's my go to rod for T-rigs, bottom bouncing jigs, and swim jigs. I swing on a lot more fish than my co anglers and contribute that to the sensitivity of this rod. I don't own a St Croix or Falcon so I can't compare it to them.

I have both st croix & loomis. The IMX would be my choice for what you are looking for.

I don't think the cara gives up any sensitivity to the loomis  but the 843 is a great all around rod, even spinnerbaits and squarebills.  If you look at the Falcon I would say the head turner would be a good choice.
