My goal is to get Jeff on a 6lb smallie then show him what an eight looks like.

  • Same goals as 2013...........and really every year.   #1 Have fun.......if it's not fun, it's not worth being out there   #2 No expensive break downs, that would put a big hurting on #1   #3 Spe

Mine would be a hope not a goal, I don't have any control of what's swimming by.  While I'm still able to walk, lol, I'd like to hook any kind of fish that will strip out 200 yds of line (without open

1. Patience

2. Work on my boat and keep it clean

3. Off shore structure

4. Limit in every tournament, Win 2

5. Have fun and enjoy mother nature

Our local monthly club tournament 1st place finisher had 126lbs to win it for the year.

That's on average around 10 pounds per tournament, plus our two away tournaments. My goal is to try to catch that 10lbs a tournament.

As a power fisherman, id love to work on slowing down....and get better with finesse fishing tactics

Sounds good to me!

I didn't see this 2014 Goals post when I started another thread. My mistake... I'm re-posting in this thread...

My wife has been on this 2014 goals kick for our business. SMART Goals for those of you in the Corporate world. It got me thinking about goals for our bass fishing team that is sponsored by said business. I figured it would be a good exercise to write down some goals for our team, and could make a good post for our team's blog.

You can read it here: Our 2014 Bass Fishing Tournament Goals… | Cartwright Realty Fishing Team

Do you have a reasonable expectation of meeting your own 2014 fishing goals?

I think that the goals I put down for our team are fairly reasonable, and should be achievable.

i dont know that i really set any fishing goals. i mean i always want to get better at this or that, or catch a new PB. i more or less just let things come to me. i dont really like putting expectations on my fishing other than i expect to catch something each time i go. no set goals, no pressure, more relaxation...

To master the JIKA rig.

This being my second year as avid angler im hoping to learn alot about the fiah and there habits. I wanna master the bait caster and get me a walleye. First and foremost I wanna have a good time and be safe!

As someone who fished three times last year my goal is to fish every week this year, have fun and take my sons and daughter fishing.

My new goal is to move somewhere that I can bass fish more consistently, and for long periods of time in the year. My house is going under contract today hopefully, my company is letting me work remotely from wherever I want. I live in northern Colorado right now, but most of my family is in Texas, so I think I'm going to live near my grandparents in Mineola, TX. I'll be really close to Lake Fork. I'm excited.

To master the JIKA rig.

I had not heard of this rig so I looked it up on YouTube and found:

I really like the action. Does it work in clear water?

This will be my first year fishing high school bass fishing through the FLW TBF SAF..... a teacher and I just got it started yeaterday, so we will be fishing that in Wisconsin this year.  So my goal would be to win that..... and same with the BFL event I will be competing in!!!!!

I'm gunning to win my high school championship this year as well, we got 3rd in the qualifier and 6th in the championship last year...

I also would like to break my PB LM (6lbs 5oz) and SM (3lbs 8oz) this year, I set new ones last year in both categories...

Get better and have fun of course!

True, but they aren't actually catching fish in this video, just showing how it looks and works. At least, that's what it seems like to me, but we're getting off topic on this thread. I just thought it was an interesting rig that I hadn't seen before.

Start fishing more soft plastics instead of just hard lures.

Learn how to efficiently fish from my new kayak.

Not too worried about my PB this year, I think that will just come with the plastics and the kayak.

I'm looking to catch 250 fish this year. Last year I got to 136 and learned a lot of things. Hopefully I'll remember most of it and learn some new things this year.

I couldn't imagine how tough it would be to keep track of fish. I'll fish whenever I can sometimes multiple times a day. Do you just keep a running log on your phone?

Tyler, I mainly fish a lot of ponds/forest preserves so every outing I have I don't get a huge number of fish so I just take pictures with my phone.  My buddies and I have a saying "pics or it didn't happen".  Plus I like to see all of the fish at years end.  I've seen guys use a counter, but i'll worry about that once I get past 250.
