  2. Alewives seem to be all over CT. East Twin is loaded with them. They mysteriously showed up in the late 90’s and destroyed CT’s best Kokanee fishery but the Trout have thrive on them. And East Twin is now a premier CT Trout Fishery. You can see the Alewives boiling in 20 foot circles all over the lake. Couple rumors on how they have gotten into East Twin. One is that the D.E.P stocked them because they didn’t want to deal with the Kokanee salmon. The other is that a couple local fisherman released them. Either way it was done illegally. I had an interesting article from the Hartford Courant printed up somewhere about them in East Twin. probably just an easy google search away. B
  3. I never minded catching the occasional slime dart especially when the bass aren’t biting. Just can’t stand them when I start catching them over and over with no bass in sight. B
  4. I personally have never caught a trout on a regular spinner bait but I have caught thousands on the inline spinners. B
  5. Mike Iaconelli. Being an east coast guy I took to Ike right away. Plus he seems like a real good dude. B
  6. In recent years the chatterbait was a technique that the pros won with and were still able to keep hidden for a couple years. Then there was the whopper plopper. Now I heard Ehler has someing new to do with a hair jig. Not sure if it's a new technique of a new jig style. Wish I knew, lol. Brian
  7. That's rough.
  8. Shot myself in my foot. I accidentally left bracket E empty. Would've picked Jones Jr. I had Combs, Ike, Lee, and Kennedy, so other then leaving E empty and again picking a favorite (Combs) who did squat I did pretty well. Brian
  9. Just turned it on. Totally forgot about the 16" keepers. Hopefully he can get one more decent one too make the cut for tomorrow.
  10. Ike today with no fish at 12:50. Man I hope his basstrakk is just not working.
  11. My local Dick's was cleared out, they had two Trojan packs left. 5/0 mag worm and 4/0 flippin. I took them both.
  12. Definitely normal for this group. Most of us know exactly what your talking about. It's a great hobby just don't let it interfere with the import parts of life. Like a job or your family. Brian
  13. Awesome day PECo! Hope you get back in time for the perch spawn. I'm planning on getting down to the Housy the next nice day. probably have to go from the shore. I just got a 14ft tin with a 7.5 merc and a bow mount trolling motor, but it won't be ready to launch till opening day. I spent all today organizing my gear trying not to think about the snow. I'm about a 1/3 done. Bait monkey problems, lol. Brian
  14. Another vote for the Mann's baby minus 1 Brian

  16. Depends what type of fishing. If I'm seriously fishing for bass then nothing at all. Just me my co-angler and nature. If just relaxing on the water and tossing some minnows and worms then I'm not opposed to a baseball game or some tunes.
  17. Anyone gotten out this year yet? All open water here in New Haven County. I've beat the bank a few times and had a couple tugs but nothing else. Sure felt good to have the rod in my hand. Wonder how iced up East and West Twin up in Salisbury are. -Brian
  18. I picked up 5 cotton Cordell crank baits for $10. And I traded in a rod and reel so I could save $10 on a pflueger president 30 and $10 off a 10ft OFA surf rod. I love how it feels in the driveway, can't wait to test it out on the sand. -Brian
