I am needing a new cranking battery this year and have about decided on the group 31 agm diehard by sears. Has anyone had any experience with these or the group 31 agm by x2 marine from batteries plus. Or is their anything better out there? Not really concerned about price as long as it will hold up and not leave me stranded. Thanks.

I run a Sears Die Hard PM-1 agm battery with 1150 CCA. Sears classifies it as a deep cycle battery. I use one as my primary battery for starting and all other functions except the trolling motor which runs the same batteries for a 24 volt trolling motor. I have a mercury 250 pro xs & a mercury 9.9 pro kicker & run a lowrance HDS 10 and live wells pumps & recirculation & two bilge pumps, lights etc. I have never had any issues with this battery after two full years since I installed it.

The PM-1 is the only battery I have found that will run an aerator, 2 structure scan boxes, 2 hds units and start my Optimax on a cold afternoon.  I've been using it for 2 years now and I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.

Unbelievable. Cabelas has it's X 900, Pure Lead AGM, group 27, battery listed at $370. Can $500. batteries be far behind?

Sears PM-1 is really when you get down to it the ONLY battery to consider.

 

right now I am running the odyssey 2150 trolling thunders( I think, I know they are the big boys)
