When does it change from just being a fisherman with a nice arsenal to an addictive thing? I think I passed junkie status long ago.crepping towards being a hoarder. what are the signs.....................?

I don't think there is such a thing.  You always need that one extra lure or rod and reel to get the big one. 

How about when the Cable Guy comes over to add a line and enters your basement, which is full of 100 plus rods & reels, shelves upon shelves of tackle, and asks you if you are a fishing equipment dealer?  That may signal your are close to the edge.

What if you have a credit card designated to only Fishing purchases?

If I stopped buying lures right now I would not use everything I have in my lifetime...but what fun would that be? You gotta hand it to the fishing industry for constantly improving and designing new toys to buy.

I wish I could get my spending down to that figure.20 rods and as many reels in the last couple weeks, just cant seem to pass up a good deal. I buy a lot during winter months.

Everytime I dig through my tackle I find things I didn't realize I had. I went to town recently and picked up a couple traps, when I was looking for a place to put them I found a few already in the box that I wasn't aware of having.

When you begin buying stuff and then realize that you not only have it already but have three of each of them!

Admitting to being a tackle junky would be to admit I have a problem. I don't have a problem so therefore I can't be a tackle junky. :-)

one bay is full of rod racks and the other is shelves of bags and 3700's. truck and ranger sit in driveway. from joliet, used to fish coal city way all the time. small world

When I moved to Florida I revamped my entire fishing philosophy.  I do have have quite a few rods and reels, I fish freshwater and saltwater from boats offshore, beaches and jetties, I could easily get away with half of what I have.  When I first got here my mentality was that I needed huge arsenal of lures and baits.  I spent a lot of money only to discover that I could catch as many fish with 3 or 4 items like everyone else here was doing, probably 75% of my fish are caught on a bucktail jig.  I took this mindset to bass fishing, with the exception of a few bags of plastics I don't have more than about 10 or 15 lures for bass fishing, many I seldom use.
