Lowrance Hds 10 Waypoint Sharing

Featured Replies

I am trying to share waypoints between a HDS10 with a lmc520C unit.   The HDS10 is using a LSS2 structure scan box.  I have the two units linked together with an ethernet cable.

I want to be able to push waypoint on either unit and it share it with the other unit.

What am I missing?

Thanks

It works now that I ran a network through nmea2000. I was told from multiple sources that it would not work. I contacted lowrance and they said it would work through ethernet.

It requires nmea2000.

Yes it does require nmea network.  That unit only shares 2d sonar via Ethernet.

Everything should communicate via NMEA connection when connected in that manner and with compatible connectors.

Yeah, unfortunately it doesn't work over ethernet. I found that out after I forked out the $50 for an ethernet cable after being told it would. Oh well, that just gives me reason to upgrade lol

That is what my friend was told as well.  I was trying to help him fix his system.  It is fixed now.  It will allow you to hit waypoint on the head unit and it instantly saves it to the older front LMC 520c unit.

We used the lowrance network starter kit and 1 additional t connector.  The main thing is you have to wire the backbone to have its own power source.

You should be able to power the nmea off the 520c.  It is the hds that don't power the network.
