What is your guys favorite trailer to put on the back of a swim jig? Also what style do you like, craws, creatures, swimbaits, etc.

I like the Grass Pig,any paddle tail swimbait, Baby Paca Craw or the bigger chunk, brush hogs, ribbon tail worms,lizards ect.

rage craw, paca craw and subwoofer are really all i use on swim jigs.

It use to be a paddle tail but lately it is Evolve RX Vibra Grub 

 

 

Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craws are awesome swim jig trailers. Swimbaits such as the Zoom Swimmin Flukes and SK Perfect Swim'n Caffeine Shad are good options as well.

What is your guys favorite trailer to put on the back of a swim jig? Also what style do you like, craws, creatures, swimbaits, etc.

 

I think there needs to be a discussion on technique/retrive when speaking about trailers.

 

If I'm swiming the bait with an up & down rod motion, I like flappy paddly things like Paca chunks ect.

 

If I'm cranking it then I want something with a built in action when cranked like a boot tail swimbait or curl tails.

 

If the trailer can do both then that's a bonus.  Some of the Rage Tail stuff can do both but won't live long on the back of jig.

My two favorites are the NetBait Kickin' B and the Skinny Dipper. Although I've had success using Rage Craws as well. I'm really intrigued by the Rage Menace and plan to use them quite a bit this coming year. 

 

If I could only have one though it'd be the Kickin' B no doubt.

Love the Big Hammers, even for calico bass.

I don't think that there is a Wrong first choice of swim jig trailers, as long as you don't get stuck on ONE style, especially if you're NOT getting Bit.

I choose the Rage Menace when the water and sky is relatively clear and/or low wind conditions, especially when I'm sure that the fish are targeting Baitfish. Shellcracker when they want a short compact profile with bulk and brim are main targets. Craw or Lobster when they want a Craw fish dinner and The Eeliminator or Cut R worm when a longer swim profile is necessary.

Since swim jigs will draw strikes that many spinnerbaits and/or shallow cranks will, color variations also become extremely important, so I think that allowing the fish to show their preference is important. Being open minded with variety until they've had a chance to show thier preferences seems to work best for me. I'll always start with lighter/natural colors and tweak them to find the best color bite pattern.

Exactly, I have taken creature baits and ripped them in half with success...

 

The Rage menace and craw are my favorites for swim jigs as well. Sometimes when I'm throwing a 1/4 or 3/8oz swim jig in heavy cover I like to put on a Rage grub and pop the jig through the cover.... MAGIC!!!
