What Rod To Fish A Zoom Fluke 4.25" Split Tail

Featured Replies

Thinking about a rod to fish a Zoom Fluke, the one with the split tail. I fish it weightless. Thinking of a 6'9" ML fast Carbonlite spinning rod. This will be a good price with a trade in during the BPS sale. Any ideas? Is there another I should consider up to $125?

St croix mojo bass drop shot 6'10 ml x-fast I throw mine on a rage in the same action

I prefer the MXF not ML myself but either will work.  I tend to throw flukes in nastier cover so i prefer e a little more backbone than the ML gives me.

Your not talking Super Fluke right?  Your talking about the nearly weightless Fluke?  I think you'll need a Med. Lt. just to cast it weightless.

I throw the swimming fluke junior weightless on a curado 200 with a 7'3 Powell medium heavy x-fast and it does fine

Yes, not the Super Fluke but the Fluke which has a flatter underside.

I have a Lamiglass Infinity Bass 735 and a 51 mg7 and that combo will sling them way out there. Its an awesome rod that you never hear of.

I prefer a medium fast. I see the Carbonlites also come in a 6'6" M fast,7' M fast,6'8" M xfast. I have a couple bc Carbonlites and they are great rods. Will be adding another during rod trade-in.

Either a 6'6" M spinning rod, or for heavier cover, a 6'6" MH trigger rod.

i know the bait you're talking about. the 69mlxf would be ideal but the 68mxf would work as well and be more rounded for other techniques. that is one small fluke.
