i just recently bought a pack of Cane thumpers and i was just wondering how yall rig em. I've fished the grass pigs before and ive had success on em i trust wanna try the Cane thumpers out.

I've done better on the swimming fluke and the swimming caffeine shad. Don't see why te cane thumper wouldn't work I like the colors better on the cane thumper

Cane Thumpers work awesome rigged as a trailer on a swim jig. Unbeatable action. Guaranteed to catch. Other than that, maybe rigged as a swim bait might also work well.

They are decent for a hand pour. I fished them on a weighted swimbait hook. they do have a nice side to side roll.

I only have used them a few times, but they worked out okay each time. I never slayed the fish with them, but I have used them in different situations with success. Texas rigged and just straight swimming it worked out okay, but had a few hits and misses. I got bit while working it over a spawning fish, but I again missed the hookset. And finally I had some success punching light matted vegetation - I got my most bites doing this which is wierd because I was using a sexy shad colored one. For some reason it really ticked em off.

 

I think the bait is awesome, it's just a bit fragile. I personally have had problems setting the hook (but maybe its me). It is funny that you mention the grass pigs because I have used them as much as I have the Cane Thumpers, I just have never gotten a bite on a grass pig.

Cane thumpers are good trailers for swim jigs. Match the right cane thumper to the right swim jig and you'll have yourself an effective lure.

I've had a lot of success with them! So much so I keep one rigged up at all times. They work great as a swim jig trailer or with a BPS 4/0 Vertical Drop Hook. Believe it or not the weight will slide through with a little pushing and pulling but it won't tear it and they'll hold up great. I've had some killer days using them and highly recommend them!
