Bait Monkey beatdown

I'm badly bruised. Hopefully I'll survive at least until the thaw. My losing battle began earlier this week. Apparently Mr. B. Monkey saw a weakspot and came in for the kill. It started with Whopper Baits new Boxing Craw annnnnnnd a few other things from their site. Then to make matters worse Americas Outdoor Show was here in Chicago. I went yesterday and picked up the new UV baits from Tightlines. If that wasn't enough, I placed an order from Jensen Jigs today. Darn you Dwight Hottle. It couldn't end there... TW was the final blow with some more jigs, swimbaits, stickbaits, terminal tackle and a Lateral Perch.

If this keeps up I won't be able to afford to put gas in the boat in another 6 weeks. :'(

I am with you.  I cannot even tell you how many hundreds of dollars I have spent since Xmas on new baits.  The Outdoor Show was not a good thing because I found even more things I had to have including LD's Diving Frog.  For $13, I don't even know if I want to throw it out there.  The big thaw has to come soon so I can get out there and fish instead of wasting money buying new things.

I was at the outdoor show too. those tight line uv baits looked pretty interesting

The bait monkey is on the run here. I made a TW order yesterday and when I looked outside this morning, I saw my wife chasing the monkey around the yard. She was beating him over the head with one of my rods. Hey, that might make a good Ugly Stick commercial. ::)

I don 't know what 's worse, having him bothering during the winter months for you guys up North or having him bothering from Jan til Dec for us guys down here in the South

Hahaha! I had the same thing happened but I woke up to her beating "me" in the head with one of my Rods. She is an animal lover so she let the monkey sleep.

You guys just have to learn to be more sneaky!  My wife didn't even notice the new 6'8" Mossyback that got added to my rod storage yesterday.  If my luck holds, she won't either!   :)

So, I am not the only one that hides fishing gear from my wife????  I feel so much better about myself now.   ;D

She should've finished him off. The sneaky little bugger managed to crawl to my house and order a bunch of spinnerbait parts when I wasn't paying attention.  :)

I often wonder if I like buying lures rods and reels more then fishing at times..haha

been able to resist him.......barely.......for now

the baitmonkey has been twisting my arm for the last 3 weeks... its really starting to hurt..

He's responsible for recently adding a Conquest 50s and a Calcutta 200 TE DC into my collection. Part of me is happy that I have these great new reels, but part of me died inside after realizing how much I just spent recently on these two reels. Thank god I bought all my textbooks already.  :)

I still have some bps gift cards i haven't tapped yet.I have been waiting for the spring fishing classic or whatever they call it to start at bps to stretch them out. I saw those boxing craws with the tiny fluke attached on another site, they look tempting for sure.

Congrats on the two new reels.

Doesn't that require two new rods?   ;D

Oh no you don't. The bait monkey has yet to force me into subsisting on mac n cheese and ramen, and it's not about to start now.  :)
