Yo Zuri On Spinning Rods.

Featured Replies

Hey guys, quick question. I want to line both my spinning reels with Yo Zuri this year.

1. 7'MH/F with a okuma trio 5.0:1 for worms and jigs

2. 7' M/f with a Okuma trio s30 6.4:1 for everything else.(topwater,cranks,etc)

I also have a drop shot rod with 7lb sunline and a winch of a baitcaster for deep cranking. My question is what size line would you put on and is yo Zuri the way to go or should I try braid with floro leaders. Ps I'm in CT where they don't get much bigger then 6lbs. And do you think my presentations are good or should I switch something around?

Thanks

I use #8 yozuri hybrid soft on my Stradic 3000FA and I've enjoyed it. I mostly throw 1/4oz jigs, tube jigs, grubs etc and have zero complaints. As far as size of the line I'd say that's more dependent on the types of cover you maybe fishing. Seems like a lot of guys will use 14-17lb for most moderate to light cover jig and worm(if it's a baitcaster) and a lot of guys use braids for thick grasses etc. #8 is my only experience with yozuri hybrid but I enjoy it.

I personally did not like UltraSoft that much, preferred regular Hybrid in 6 or 8 lb test for spinning.

But FWIW, I use braid for mainline and tie leaders now. But I did use YZH for a while as mainline. Roadwarrior recommends 6lb regular Hybrid (correct me if I'm wrong, rw) on spinning gear....

Spinning tackle: #6 Yo-Zuri Hybrid

Baitcasting gear: #12

I'm using 8LB yo Zuri super soft, so far I like it , first non mono line I've used besides pline

Ive switched to braid with a flouro leader. 6lb Hybrid is fine. Use some KVD lure and line conditioner and good to go.

Ditto on the yo zuri hybrid .

I use 4#, 6#, 8#, 10#, 12#, 14# & 17# on my spinning outfits.

Each line test goes with a certain lure size and weight. I match the lure action to the rod action Im using too. With cranks, minnowbaits, I like the 6# to 8#, while the inline spinner and spinnerbaits run in the middle weight 10# lines, while the carolina rigs, jigs and topwater are my heavier test lines. They use the 12#, 14# & 17#.
