I'm Missing Something Apparently

I'm gonna try that tomorrow. I don't think I believe your theory.

You're gonna find it's fact, not theory.  From this forum:

I read about this in a bass master magazine and it works great... You take the little metal piece from the top of  a dental floss container and it works like a charm. very inexpensive and highly effective. you can either leave it on the container or take it off and super glue it to the bottom of the end of your rod for convenience"

Raider as an electrician I would bet that you have many tools that you have paid much more for than a similar tool sold at a discount store. Will a cheap multi-meter measure voltage as accurately as a good Fluke? Probably. Will a cheap wire stripper work as well as a good Klein? Probably. Will a cheap screwdriver work nearly as well as a quality one designed for the specific purpose for which you are using it? Probably. Will my cheap stainless scissors cut braid as well as Redline's high-end pair? Probably. We all make value judgments based on many things. It is what makes the world go round...

Put your two rock set in a slick package and get a couple of pros to swear by it, and you are probably on your way to being rich and famous :Idontknow: ...good luck.

I admit.  I have a pair of $300 Abel fishing pliers that I use to cut braid with.  They come with a cool leather holster.

I've had them for almost 20 years!  had to replace the blades once!

I would say at $15 a year that is a pretty good investment not to mention anything Abel makes is just plain pretty...

Actually, on the voltage measuring, if the frequency is at around 60 Hz then a cheap meter may do it but it doesn't take much deviation from 60 Hz at all for it to start reading way way off. All my meters are true RMS to make sure they aren't affected by that. In normal household circuits, any meter works, it's all 60Hz.

Well if you don't get the presidents seat. We all know you could be the next Billy Mays. I do agree with you though. I have a mini blow touch lighter. It worked well for lighting big fat cigars. Since it is wind proof i decided to start using it for braid. For me it works really great.

Oh Billy Mays.  (Don't snort the oxyclean children).

Of course Master & Commander Raider would never resort to drugs to keep his drive up.  He has his fiery angst and rants to keep him going!
