Shrimp. Sometimes I'll throw a DOA New Penny swimmer or a Gulp shrimp when I get tired of putting on live shrimp every 5 casts... PITA!

 

They are eating little blue crabs also. We checked two of the stomachs of the reds we cooked and they had little blue's in them.

Those peas look like they were caught at place I was at yesterday in Cocoanut Creek.  I had no no peas but I did hook a bass and at first thought it might be one of the better ones of the year.  I got the fish landed and it was a bit smaller than I first imagined, I'm thinking 24".  As I'm waiting for this gal to walk across the street to snap a photo the fish felt like only 2 or 3#, it was thin.  I just threw it back, wasn't photo worthy.

Gambler EZ Duzit hook with the giant fluke paid off this morning. Scale gave me different readings of 5.0lbs and 4.14. Eitherway the fish keep getting bigger.

I actually went the custom route. I ordered a few spinnerbaits from Seibert's a couple of days ago. He managed to make a custom color I wanted, and it made its way to color that he will be offering

And thanks MCS. Ive been trying to target bigger fish being land locked as whats hurting me the most. That spot I goto has a 20ft hole but every angler knows about it.

I sat there one day while a local tournament was ran amd watched 6 boats pull up right there maybe 20 minutes before time. It can get wiped clean of fish and kt takes a while for them to come back.

Like I mentioned on my PM, send Mike an email and talk to him. He is cool like that, he will listen to  you and maybe be able to accomodate or give you suggestions on his current line up that might meet the specs you want. That's the cool thing about custom makes.

Two in an hour at East Lake Toho. Gambler EZDuzit with the Gambler Swimmer in green pumpkin.

2 dinks today. Not having much luck lately. But I've been trying to fish a little more with cranks. The 4 or 5 pounder at Tropical Park continues to elude me. I saw her 3 times today just patrolling the bank but no matter what she doesn't budge on any of my baits.

 

Got a new Rod and Reel. Got me the Berkley Amp Rod (6'6''Medium) and the Pflueger Trion25

So far so good, smooth reel and very sensitive rod.

If it stays this hot Rick it will be time to go slow and deep with the plastics and save the cranks for cooler weather. Nice combo, I have 3 pflueger spinning reels. It will serve you well.

It has been very slow lately for me too. Today was a bust. Caught one and it got unbuttoned right before it reached the bank. Other than that nothing. Next week should be interesting. I am heading out to the Glades next Saturday with a mystery guest...   Let's see if we can stick some piggies.....

Deeper water near ledges or slopes and heavy cover. I havent been finding them anywhere else.
