Has anybody tried the Johnny Rat lures? I watched the promo video earlier and it looked awesome.

The heddon torpedo is a great top water bait also.

Prop baits rock!!! I can't resist throwing them year round down here. I think they have the ability to "call" fish.1st thing in the morning just at dawn there deadly. This time a year, you can throw it all day and get bites. Those devil horses can take a beating to since there made out of wood.

Hey MCS, after the bass spawn the panfish are next. If you see a bunch a beds all together, try throwing that kelly j. around. It's imitates a dying panfish well since it lays sideways and sits a lower at the surface then other prop baits. A couple soft twitches and a long pause in between should get ya some bites. Throw it on mono, since it floats also.

The color I have is bluegill. I will give it a try. The bluegill spawn when the water hits 70-80? I just have had confidence in it, probably fish it too hard and fast. The time I did get the nice fish was just like you said.

Yeah man last two yrs from now til it gets dog hot in may/june topwaters good with the jumpin minnow or spook and popr. I did really care for hallow frogs but Lou talked me into one late last season so I am gonna try her out more this yr.

Best morning I ever had was with a booyah poppin pad crasher, caught 8 from 4lbs to 6.5 lbs nothing smaller. Nothing like seeing a top water bait being devoured by a bass.

I just saw them on ***, looks cool in the water and the big fish seemed to like it but for that price I could have a new rod or reel.

I never seen the price but at that price it better hunt down the fish and snag it by it self lol

$135 for this no thanks we could make our own for $10.

That's what I like about most folks round here in the fl threads on all sites, keep it simple plastics, traps, topwater.

Today was a good day. I got a digital scale. Caught two fish 1.3 and 1.5 lbs. a 3.5lb pickerel and at a heavily fished area I went wading out from the shoreline to find a concrete burlap bag with a ton of tackle in it. 5 rattle traps 3 almost new, an umbrella rig, a rooster tail, a few worm hooks, and a lot more random hooks which I left down there.

Lol gotta love free stuff.

How's the fishing been for everybody in Fl the past few days. I was looking through some old pics and found a few I wanted to share. I was lucky to be taught to fish at a very young age.

Dang that last on is your PB or a recent catch?

Got a few small ones on a wacky rigged senko.  Best catch was a 4-5 lb. largemouth on a rapala "walk the dog" style topwater bait.  I have a devil's horse but I dont have much confidence in it.  The front prop constantly wraps my line....

Spooks used to do that to me on my spinning gear, use heavier/stiffer line (went from 8# elite to 10# seige) or feather the spool(even on spinning) to keep the bait out in front of the line.

Didn't have no scale on me but this was a few years back and it was close to my pb. The one I caught 3 weeks ago was bigger than this but I didn't have my scale or phone on me.

It's still been slow for me. April last year is when it really took off for me so hopefully it picks up soon.

There's a algal bloom on a few ponds I've been fishing. Not many for me either, I went Tuesday morning and got skunked.

Ah ok, haven't really done much fishing around that area. I think I'm the westside guy on here lol.
