What Music Do You Listen To While Fishing?

Featured Replies

My favorite fishing music is the birds. LOL that looks like something my wife would write. They are rather relaxing thought and keep me focused on the task at hand. I dont need to be dancing or head bobbing on the deck while fishing people would think I was "different".

If i didnt have to reload youtube everytime or i could find mp3 files, i like them fishin songs. Mike morazinni, casey ashley, the bait shop parody, etc. But i mostly listen to rock, the good stuff! Pantera, metallica and of course 5FDP. Im the guy headbangin while flippin docks.

Dude me and you listen to same music! Metallica and 5FDP are serious elevators of blood pressure and adrenal flow . Turn it on when I get tired and had enuff lake noise!

On the way to the lake or river, I usually listen to metal like Five Finger Death Punch, Slipknot and etc. Somedays, I'll listen to hiphop or dubstep such as Eminem to Yelawolf. Dubstep- Datsik to Skrillex.

Never on water, I like to concentrate.

None and I don't want to hear yours, either!!!!!!!

too bad, you got no control over what others do on the water. you can get mad and tick and moan all you want. its your choice not to listen to music on your boat, but getting upset and making a douchey post about what others choose to do on their boat isnt going to stop it. seriously, who times ten's themselves. unbelievable. if i saw you on the lake, after reading the tone of your post, i would turn my music even louder just to tick you off

I'll X20 it ! I hate being out on the water and some dip has his radio turned up. I can see if your out parting in a pontoon boat. Oh wait. No I can't even understand that. If you don't like nature get out of it so the rest of us can enjoy it.

But when I go out in nature then that's my music and I don't want to hear yours.

you may be there for nature, others may not. if someone is playing music and you dont want to hear it, then thats on you, its your hangup, leave, find another fishing spot. you dont own the lake and dont control what other people do on their boats, whether its a bass boat with other anglers, or a pontoon boat full of people partying makes no difference. some people enjoy their time on the water different than you, how you gonna expect people to respect the way you like to spend your time on the water when you dont respect the way they spend their time on the water?

a guess a world full of mutes would suit both of you just fine...

Rush, Metallica, or Incubus (which the bass prefer). And, if the time is right, I enjoy a Tigers game, or Lions (which the bass don't like).....

Pink Floyd - Welcome to the Machine on repeat until I catch a fish.

Then I move onto everything else by Floyd. Fish seem to like the acid inspired tunes!

Music while I'm fishing, of course not.  I fish with my ears as well, always listening for fish busting on bait.  Sight casting is more than just visual.

red earth....

you are way off base.  1st of all the X10 was not for my own post.  i quoted another post and it was X10 for that post and to all the others who posted the same.

and you speak of "tick and moan"  say what? and a "douchey post" ?  your attitide proves my point.  i simply said i don't play music and i have zero desire to hear yours.  the fact you say you would turn your music up "to tick me off" truly shows the type of person you are.  total lack or respect for anyone else.  i don't care if you or anyone else listens to music, i just don't care to hear it.  so have a little respect if you are around fisherman don't have it turned up to annoy others.  it is called respect.  pontoon boats and party boats usually aren't an issue and aren't in the same area.  but if they are, i certainly would never say anything to them.  ever.  they are there to have a good time.  sometimes i like what they are playing.  my point is, i don't play music, i enjoy all the sounds of nature and being on the water.  and my preference would be not not hear your music either.  no "tone" to my post. as there certainly is tone to your post.  can't say i've ever met an angler i don't like...but if we ever met, you may be the 1st, based on your post and the attitude you expressed.  kinda mean and hateful. and vindictive.  for no reason.

Last night I put on my Justin Moore station per a request from one of my buddies. It was fun for a bit, but I'm not going to do it regularly. I barely even listened so it was a waste. I'm more into listening to music while driving around to and from spots.

Sometimes I take my harmonica along and after a long day of fishing I sit by the campfire and play a few tunes that I learned from my Great Grandmother...

Don't sound to exciting ...

But it sure is relaxing and the kids seem to enjoy it :)

I try to keep "noise pollution" to a minimum when I am out on the water, and actually I do this for the most part every day no matter where I am, I don't like loud obnoxious people so I chose not to be one myself... If I do listen to music when fishing it is on headphones (usually country, Lionel Richie, CCR, 3 Dog Night...) so I don't bother or negatively effect the fishing and or anybody else's experience out on the water...   Think of it this way, you are deer hunting on public land, and some guy brings a boom box out to the woods and jams out right next to your stand... is he doing something illegal? No... but is it still wrong? Yes... at least this is the way I think about it...

now that, i could go for...

I enjoy the sounds of nature when I fishing. Any other time? I am usually jamming to Slayer, Ministry, etc...

Bob Marley always nice!

I'm a 100% real country music guy, my truck has a cassette player so that I can listen to my original George Straits and Alabamas, but my fishing music is a complete 180 from that. Favorite fishing song is definitely Intro by The XX, when I'm by myself anyways. Last summer I really liked Sail by AWOLNATION, Paradise by Coldplay, and Radioactive by Imagine Dragons, they get me focused and in the zone. Crazy but it helps me image myself making the perfect cast and setting the hook on a monster every time.

That is very well said, without being even the least bit "douchey". More than can be said of the post you responded to.

I love music, and have been involved in it to some degree for many years. I would rather be slathered in honey and buried in an ant hill than have it on my boat though. With that said, I respect the right of others to listen to whatever they choose. It does show a lack of respect to inflict your music on the rest of the lake IMO. What is unbelievable to me is the notion that I can do whatever I want on my boat without regard for anyone other than myself. That self-serving and self-righteous attitude shows itself in many ways on the water. Loud music is only one of them.

none while fishing.

on the way i bump anything and everything but country

I usually don't listen to music but if I do it's ussually Mötley Crüe, Jimi Hendrix or tech n9ne!

When I'm fishing that is!

In the truck, I am a product of the 60's - Doors, Led Zep, etc.  While on the boat I never listen to music.  Too busy talking to myself.

String music.
