I am almost 15 and cant really afford much, so keep prices low, but what wouls be a good rod and reel combo for jigs and other lures requiring mh action. I'm applying for jobs and if I get hired ill be able to afford more expensive stuff but until then I need something of good quality but cheap, I was looking at the duckette ghost rods, and rods like thay, but preferably micro guides, and I dont have a idea ona reel, if I can find a phoenix m1 id love one of those or a dobyns. Any info helps. Thanks

Pro Qualifier/Veritas combo $150.  Add $10 for a spool of 14lb BPS XPS Fluorocarbon and your in business which will handle light to moderate cover while flipping yet you can still cast a football jig out a good distance.  This will do a lot more than just fishing jigs.

I'm dubious about starting out with flouro if you don't have experience casting - it's a bit cantankerous compared to mono.

I'd say a pro qualifier and a veritas for jigs. If you don't want to spend too much, you should be fine jigging with mono or copoly IMO.

I didn't read through all your posts op, but you don't seem inexperienced, just young.  Go with the fluoro if it works well in your area.

Bps pq/carbonlite or keep your eyes on the flea market

A new Dobyns or M1 would set you back a lot more than the suggestions you've already got.

Any of them are good combos that would suit your needs.

Well, i have a jig rod, its just a 6'6 and i want a longer one. I also have been looking at the PQ  combo, love it, i already have one. I am experienced with casting and swear by flurocarbon and braid, i hardly ever use mono. The M1 is a nice rod, really like them! And yes, i am young, hahah.The sellus is a good rod for starters, i still have a drop shot one i still use from when i got started. thanks for the tips everyone. I think i am going to go with the PQ, but if i get the job and can afford it i think i will get a dobyns or M1 and a PQ,

Nice!  Never used one, but read good things about them.  Did you get a job?  If you are looking in that price range, then the KLX has been getting excellent reviews.  A few seem to think it is better than the M1.  I am hoping to get another 4-5 rods this year.  The KLX will be one of them based on what I have read.  Unfortunately I often have to buy sight unseen and the KLX would be one of them in that category.

 

EDIT:  Another rod at the same MSRP is the Fenwick Aetos.  Very nice looking rod.  Haven't used mine with a lure requiring sensitivity yet, but a dependable friend says they are very sensitive rods.
