Hello everyone I hope to not come off like that little kid who's trying to steal your pot of gold out from under you that by no means is what this post is about. Im from carlisle pa so I mainly fish some smaller lakes for largemouth and the river for small mouth every now and then. I have an internship this summer up in new york in Albany with honeywell and I was hoping some one could point me in the right direction of some fishing spots. Just general lakes or ponds maybe a decent river spot for some smallest im not asking for what whole you throw in. I just am looking for a place I can catch a few fish in an hour or two since ill be living alone and have a lot of free time after work.

I live in the area and there are ton of places to beat the bank.  The closest to Honeywell is Rennselear Lake.  Enter into the Six Mile Waterworks from Fuller Road and you will be introduced to a large amount of real estate to fish from the bank.

I fish it quite often.  Key here is light line and finesse stuff like Roboworms on a mojo rig.  A senko will work too.  Certain pockets are weed free and I have been successful crankin those spots.

If you need supplies - Dicks Sporting Goods in Crossgates Mall.  That is also a bink from where you are.

Look me up when you are in town.  I will show you around.

Good luck!

The Mohawk and Hudson rivers are close by, and there are all kinds of bank fishing spots. The Adirondacks are also close, and there you find any type of water body and fish you could want.

Hmmm. Hudson and Mohawk rivers. Tomhannock Res in Troy, Kinderhook Lake, Ballston Lake, Round lake, Saratoga Lake, lake Lonely, Queechy Lake in Canaan.

FYI - Tomhannock Res requires a permit and they do hunt around.  Been checked twice.
