    Ice, ice go a way.

  • Well my tackle boxes are sorted out and my lures are placed where they should be ready for early morning fishing in the pre dawn dark. My new rod and reel setups are ready but they need to be tested s

Man, it just keeps getting better.  I caught so many Larrys last night I stopped taking pics as well as some beaut bluegills and a few monster pickerel.  I went through just about two whole bags of roboworms t-rigging the edges of the emerging lily beds...  I guess you could say pre spawn is on!

I couldn't stop smiling the whole ride home.  It was just one of those days- the weather wasn't even that nice!

Well, I really did it this time.

After much deliberation, I just locked in my dream finesse combo.  Got my NRX852c green from HighSalenity the other day & last night I finally found and bought a MINT perfectly matching green Curado 51e.  I cannot wait to fish the crap out of this setup!  I already ordered some Abec7s for it, but I'm reeeeeeeeeeeeally looking forward to building that reel to the hilt.

Thanks, I am stoked right out of my boots at the moment and just needed to let it out.   :respect-059:

Oh, and I also brought a friend out to the honey hole in the spare yak last night for his first time bass fishing ever- he's hooked for life after learning how to walk a frog and watching me pull this fattie out of the lilies on a Slug-go SS

So yeah.  Pretty jazzed at the moment.  Fishing is grand.

Thinking about night bass fishing.

How I go from catching fish, to absolutely nothing the past two days. Maybe a dink here or there, but thats about it. I cant get em to eat anything.

Man, it's bad enough when there's a few people out on your honey hole when you normally have it to yourself.  It's even worse when they feel the need to crowd the **** out of you.  Literally so close I could have casted right into his kayak.  Seriously?  You can see I'm working my way down this bank and you row right into my next  corner??  You have the whole lake THE WHOLE LAKE and you come all the way over here to crowd me.

People really are just selfish and inconsiderate.  I mean come on.  Come.  On.  Have some courtesy.  I'd call it common courtesy but it's really not very common anymore unfortunately.

What's on my mind is why am I catching fish on a jerkbait with water temps around 75 deg? I didn't think it would work as well post spawn (assuming spawn is temps 60-65). LMB and walleye are hitting it from bluffs to submerged points on two different bodies of water. I'll keep throwing it until they quit. Read an article from Ike where he likes to throw it year round. I have been pleasantly surprised with the JB the last two weeks.

When's the 5 am alarm gonna go off so i can go slam some topwater bass

Getting ready to rip some lips in the morning with the obvious lure of choice. The tried and true buzzer. I've been waiting all year for the buzzer to finally kick in.

Club meeting tonight and we vote on our next location.  The tourny is this weekend too.  Short turnaround.  Only guys with days off or a forgiving job will be able to prefish or look at the location early.  I am thinking about topwater and maybe a crankbait on the weed edges.  My mind is turning like a top today...

First week of June traditionally starts the Big May Fly hatch in the North Woods.

Seems like everything that swims gets in on the bounty.

Fly rodding for brown bass is just too darn good to pass up.

This wacky winter may have changed the timing of it all but I'll be ready & waiting to see.

I had a first (for me) on Sunday....had a 1/2 oz black buzzbait with black w/purple fleck trailer on and had a 40" muskie slam the water near it to investigate, then follow it in.  Most of the bass I've brought in so far this year, including the biggest at 20", were on a similar setup though I was using a 1/4 oz buzzbait that has since disappeared.
