The things I do for fishing. I found a Lew's reel and TFO rod at a pawn shop the other day for 120. Well all my cash is tied up right now. Having a stroke of genius I called my grandmom. For the past five years twice yearly she will buy my beard from me. Basically its her way to get me to not look scraggaly. Anyway I place the call and drive to her house. She freaking butchered me. I have 3/4s of an inch in beard left. She cut 5inches of beard off my face! She told me she would only take 3. So now my gnarly electrician beard is no longer gnarly. By God they better have that d**n rod and reel still when I get to the pawn shop.

Nope. Ain't got none of those at the moment.

Not only did they have my beautiful (new) Lew's Tournament Pro, mounted on a TFO Signature Series 7ft MH split grip rod. They had my all time favorite fishing reel ever. A Pinnacle PLS150! I have been searching for one of those reels for the last three years. They were a cheaper offering by Pinnacle. I believe they retailed at around 79 dollars new. I bought the three I owned on sale for 35 when they discontinued them. 1 of them still works. I sold it to a friend. One was being used as a parts reel after I broke it. (My wife accidentaly threw the ziplic bag and broken reel away a few years back.) My last one, lost out in a fight against a 20lb stripe. The drag burned out and the gears stripped out of it. By God I landed the fish though. Anyway. This thing looks like its never been used. It is completely pristine. Like looks came out of the box new. To hell with the Lew's I got my Baby Back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh I bought the Lew's setup too.

Hey Raider, I'm going off line for the next two weeks.  The first week I'll be at Pickwick with some buddies, and the second week I'll be at Doublehead, with some buddies. 

 

You've made noises about showing up for a couple of days at Wilson.  Is you, or ain't you?  Enquiring minds want to know.

As of now I'm planning on it. Even if I got to sleep in my truck. Unless something comes up at work I will be there. The plan as of now is to head up there that Thursday after work.

Sounds like you got a great deal and a trim all at the same time.  It will grow back and you can do it again.

Wow, your grandma gave you that much for a trim.  I might let my beard grow and come see her.  I keep mine trimmed to about 3/16 to 1/4 inch.

Nowhere close to that much. She gave me the 25 dollars. Just in case I couldn't talk them down from the 120. That Lew's reel ain't half bad. My son was helping me test it out. We were using about a quarter ounce weight on it. Or whatever those little Shakespeare yellow fish weigh. (Its all I had in my truck). I can't wait to test it on the water.
