Featured Replies

I am super excited right now  I'm gonna pick up my first kayak.  The color Im getting is the lizard lick.  They are taken $200 off because of some dents during the shipping. Oh and its the 2014 version yak too with the newer accessories that added on.  I'm so excited I will take pics later..Total for 1099 good deal or no?

Watch your scalp if you're cruising in the reservation lands.  A name like that will get you killed.

Congrats on your purchase. Always great to be out on the water!

1099 After the 200 discount? If so then yea 2bills off for some minor dents is pretty good. Where did you purchase it? Native Slayer 12 was one of the yaks I was looking at before I decided I wanted a tandem fishing yak. I'm sure you'll love it! Hopefully receiving mine soon, I went with the Jackson Big Tuna. I look forward to seeing it all rigged up.

Congrats on your 'yak.

What's the top-side look like?

Awesome! You'll love it. I've got the Native Ultimate 12. Great yaks, to be sure.

I've eyed the Slayer, despite having no money for a new yak...LOL.

Looks good and i have yet to hear a complaint about them.

Also, am i not seeing your picture right in that you have the cross straps only through the blocks and around the boat so in essence the only thing holding your boat on the roof is the bow and stern tie downs?

that was the only picture I had.. I was super excited once it was on the car I took a quick snap shot.  But soon after I strap it with the center one for the middle.

Can someone recommend me a good paddle that is light and good price around $100?  The only paddle they have there are (Current design paddle Aura ivp) fiberglass.

Are these any good?

You can stop posting pictures now. I can't afford a new yak.  :cry3:

But seriously. It looks awesome. You are gonna have a great time in it.  :hangloose:

When I bought my yak, and ever since, I get a discount on in-store products.

I got a 15% discount on the paddle. Maybe your store offers something similar?

You'll want something fairly light. Fiberglass is light, but carbon is lighter. I bought an AquaBound Hybrid Manta Ray paddle.

When you buy one, raise your hand straight up and curl your fingers at the second knuckle over the top of the paddle. That's a perfect length. However, if your Slayer is a little wider, you may want the next size up.

The new AquaBound (and other brands) are offering multiple adjustments for sizes, so that's an option, as well.
