When to use loop knots

Just wondering if anyone uses loop knots, and for what baits. Thanks

dont throw them much, so i dont use the knot much...

Pretty much never.  I'd have to consult a guide to even tie it at this point.

Never. I can't seem to tie one that comes out to much better than about 30%.

I use a loop knot quite a bit, very easy to tie and amazingly strong. I mostly use this knot fishing saltwater ( been a bit lazy this year using more duolocks), jigs, soft plastics on jig heads, spoons, top water jerkbaits, just about everything.  I have yet to be with a saltwater guide that doesn't use the knot, I use only 2 knots out here, loop and clinch.

I have been using a loop know when fishing jerkbaits (Rogue, Redfin, etc.) since the early 70's. The loop knot allows for more action. I use the Rapala loop knot and have never had a problem with losing fish because of knot failure.

I opt mainly for a split ring these days but for larger topwater hardbait its tough to beat.
