Mixed reviews of these 2, 2014 baitcast reel.

 

What's your call, which way to sway? The Tatula Type R is also in the running.

Was looking at the same reels, but went with the tatula, can be had for around $105 - $110 on ebay or amazon...price was a deciding factor for me.

I prefer the Type R because I like the braking system better. I don't care for centrifugal reels much. They both performed well for me, just like the Type R more; which is why I sold my Curado.

Paying $135 for a Type R swayed it for me as well.

I haven't tried the Curado I yet but I have a Tatula and Tatula Type-R and the are both outstanding reels.

I have not tried a Tatula Type R, but I was fortunate to get my hands on the new Curado I, and its great reel. Smooth and very far casting. I enjoy the tweaking of the brake system by just using the dial. The handles are nice and long for great leverage to battle fish. The craftmanship  looks and feels solid. So far I am enjoying it alot. Yes, the $$ tag is higher than Tatula, but hey, its my $$. 

I am a diehard shimano and daiwa fan and to be 100% honest you can't go wrong with either of them.

Tatula for sure at the price they can be had .Put the $70 or so saved on a rod or very good line.

Ive got the Curado I and Tatula R, the Curado is the longer caster for me, but other than that, they are very similar in performance in most other respects. But what sways it for the Curado is the palming. Its almost 50 sized which is a huge plus for me for the way I palm, I have to change my grip with the Tatula because the teeth on the mag dial rubs my finger raw. Id go to a BPS and handle them both, put them on a rod and see what feels best.

Unless size matters. The Curado I is, I believe, a bit smaller than the Tat.

 

But they both get fine reviews. Moreso, I'd say, between the Curado I and the Tat Type R.

 

I picked up another Chronarch recently. Absolutely love the reels. Considered the Tat and the I, but decided what I like is the size of the Chronarch 50e the most.

What about a ***?

Definitely with the Tatula.

I say curado I but I wouldn't hesitate on a Tat either.... The 50e platform is amazingly easy to palm... With curado I it's just a hair bigger palm side.... You should handle the reels if possible on the rod you have chosen to be sure!

Finally .. I do not believe you will go wrong whatever you choose! Tats are somewhat cheaper and widely avail. At sweet pricing... The curado I ...is still hard to get...
