I'm thinking about making a senko mold. I'm thinking of a straight even hole threw a piece of hardwood?

Or using steel tubing then just push them out.

What do you do for a release agent.

Vasaline, baby powder, pam many dif things u can use as a release agent. Watch youtube bids and google it

Can I melt down another plastic lure color I prefer and pour it into a mold?

Can I pre lube the senko mold with a bass scent as a scent and release agent? Or do I mix a scent in the melted plastics?

I would add the scent to the plastic when you melt it down. Be advised that some baits are heavily salted and will probably be hard to get the salt to mix well. Also, be prepared for the smell. Cook the old baits in a VERY well ventilated area, outside if possible.

Stick baits are pretty difficult for a beginner.

They are fully round so making a mold yourself is tough. It really should be a two part mold (two halves)

The plastic requires heavy amounts of salt to make them sink while weighless. You could use a weighted wacky jighead if the salt is left out.

I would buy an aluminum two part hand pour mold from ebay for $50 or so. You will be much happier with that and baits will look just like a real Senko.

Or look on Do-it, Bears Baitjunky, or tackle underground for used ones.

Check with Lure craft.com They have what your looking to do. I don't think your idea will work. Reason is you've got to get the bait out of the mold once it cools.

I have a bait that I call a do nothing because it has no action except for what I give it. I make them in brass tubes that I buy at the local hardware store. I have 24 of them set up at a time and before I begin adding the plastisol, I give each a quick shot of WD-40. I let them set up for a while then I push them out with a rod that just fits the inside diameter of the tubes. Some times I use cooking oil bit it is way harder to use than WD.

I have an aluminum 2 piece, 4 cavity mold I will give you for shipping.  The kids and I made about 500 senkos with it before they lost interest.

You had better take him up on this. You can't beat it.
