Went through my tackle today

Featured Replies

i went through my tackle and took out all the crap i never used and will never really use and no it barely fits into 2 3700 organizers(not terminal tackle, actual lures) my bag only holds 4 3700 sized organizers and i was wondering if i would need a bigger one for all my stuff. i now have just have a crank box, jig/spinnerbait box and a frog/swimbait/misc box. i still have about 50 bags of plastics though :D. for tackle i realized i am kind of a minimalist compared to my buddies

Do some kayak fishing and you'll trim that down even more. I generally bring four 3600s and about a dozen bags of plastics, and most times I could actually get by with less than 25% of that stuff.

I still gotta do this. I just kinda put stuff in it lol. But yeah mine can hold 4 3700s, or 8 3600s but i finally have too much tackle to fit all into my tackle box and gotta figure out what i want in it and what i dont.

I clean out every year, probably trim about 30 lbs. of stuff....thing is, I replace it with something new I learned, LOL.

You can have your cake, and eat it too.

Look at all the stuff I bring, LOL:

Take whatever is comfortable to you.  I fit everything that I need into a Spiderwire Wolf Spider tackle bag.  I have one crankbait box, two jig boxes, two plastics boxes, and one spinnerbait box.

It has plenty of room for pliers, a scale, my hook box, spare spools, etc. and its relatively compact.  I dont like to cram everything together.  It just makes it a pain to put it all back.

As much as I'd like to have more stuff, I already own more than I can throw.

I have a 3 tray Flambeau tackle box and a 2 tray Plano that I have filled up.

I always try to go through and take out all of the stuff that isnt very productive and that I dont use often but...haha I always have that "what if?" thought in my head and can never bring myself to take it out. I know its dumb but...I just like the feeling of being over prepared for anything.

;D Francho, you need an extra boat to pull around just to haul your gear in.

I have 8 3700 boxes...

That bag typically stays in my car while I have the necessities (Spinnerbait, crankbait, rattletrap, jigs, hooks, weights, few bags of plastics, pliers, scale, camera, water bottle) in my hunting fanny pack.

I'm pretty much stranded to the shore for now.
