Favorite Weedless Wacky Hook?

Featured Replies

Hey guys so I was wondering what your favorite weedless wacky hooks are? I am wanting to fish them both shallow and in a deeper water like 10-20 feet, so I would want some that have weights as well as some without weights. Thanks!

Both Gamakatsu and Owner have excellent weedless wacky hooks. Jackall makes a excellent weedless wacky tungsten jig, pricy!

Awesome thanks for the suggestions! I didnt think to ask in my first post, but what size weight would you recommend for the 10-20ft range? I have never actually used the wacky rig weighted before, but I think it is something I really want to do this year as I have always had a lot of confidence in it weightless. Thanks again!

No, that means what exactly is the lure you use for wacky rigging.

Oh sorry I thought you were making a joke nevermind. Itll be 4in or 5in senko the most, and maybe a flickshake rarely.

For the Senko--4/0 Gamakatsu Octopus #02414 with added weedguard of braided stainless steel wire.

I don't use the flick shake worm, I use one somewhat similar (Zoom Trick and Finesse worms)

rigged like my avatar.

I use lead insert weights made by Lunker City in 3/64 oz. for depth  Deep and windy, I use the 3/32 size.

Awesome thanks Ill check those weights out for sure!

I have hung some pretty nice bass on the owner 1/0 weedless wacky hook, my PB (6.5 lbs) came from one of those hooks. I would give them a look.

If I were fishing in 10-20 feet of water, I would consider a very light buckeye flick it jighead wacky hook.

I use the eagle claw weedless hooks on most of my plastics.

I think it's the #449 eagle claw needless. I go larger in size like 2/0 & 3/0 on the senko and larger on the bigger body bushogs. The bigger hook the better chance on a hook set.

Trokar wacky worm. Green Owner wacky hooks. VMC Ike approved wacky. In that order

My current weedless wacky hook of choice is a weighted Falcon K-wacky hook.   I prefer the 1/16 or 3/32 oz weight.    I think that the weight helps you get deep quicker when you are fishing in the 10' range.  I don't think that the slightly faster drop hurts anything when you are fishing the wacky rig shallow.

I like the Trokar best. Stupid sharp.

Don't get VMC. The weedguard prevents hooksets.

for weightless i like..

Wayne, can you show an enlarged view of the set up or a link to it?

Weightless w/o weed guard - Gamakatsu octopus hook, I forget what size, maybe like a 1/0?

Weightless w/ weed guard - the Gamakatsu that Wayne P. posted up earlier

Flick-Shake - I like the VMC "Ike Approved" and Owner wacky jigs

YES, Yes it does.  I just tried them.  I caught 1 but lost hooksets on 3 or 4 and the 1 was barely hooked.
