Lure ID and Usefulness?

Featured Replies

Someone gave me a tackle box with assorted gear in it recently and some of it appeared old.

The bottom two are a Hot N' Tot Thin Fin and a Short Wart. The top three I have no idea.

And I have no idea how effective any of these lures are so any advice would be great thanks.

That blue one will never catch a fish. ;)

The middle yellow one looks like a pike or walleye style crank (older model). Not sure how well it would work for bass, but I know some lakes where the pike would that up if it ran true.

Why, you planning on copying that one too! Did you ever have the mattress police at your house?  ;D

I'm just about to start a thread in luremaking with my prototype blue finned hookless bass catcher.

Top looks to be a Bagley of some sort, the middle is a Swim Whiz or Believer.

The blue one is an old Manns bait, I believe it was called the rooter. The top one looks to be a very old crank. Hooligan, is right on the middle one. It's a Swim Whiz.
