Where To Buy A Boat Cover

Featured Replies

Where is the best place to buy a boat cover? I have a 2006 G3 Eagle 175 (17.5') and my cover needs to be replaced. I've been looking online at boat covers.com and i boats. com and they seem to have a good selection. Where do you guys get yours from and what material do you recommend? Should I go semi-custom or custom??

I got mine from boat covers. Com. I really like it and it seemed reasonable.

Thanks for the tip. Which fabric did you end up with? I'm looking at the Prism and Weathermax

I'm sorry I told you wrong.  I used National boat covers.  Here is the one I bought.  So far its been awesome.  I looked at Boatcovers.com but didnt buy there.

After my original boat cover wore out, I managed to find a trailerable boat cover - better than the original one - at the Cabelas bargain cave in KCK.  I think I spent $50 - a good deal.

If I ever buy another boat cover (unlikely), I would only get a custom cover. My boat is garage kept so I don't need an every day cover. I did buy on two separate occasions generic covers. They flapped around so much while driving, both of them were damaged the first time I used them. On one, stress from the wind pulled the straps with the buckles right off, and on the other, the corner of my windshield wore a hole through the canvas. A tight fitting cover is a must and I don't think you can get that with an off the shelf unless you're lucky.

Dufort Industries. They make custom covers, canvas and tops for just about any boat.

I bought mine at Bass Pro, maybe $40-$50. I went ahead and bought from Bass Pro because its only 4 miles away and easy to take back if something is wrong with it.

Trailerable is the way to go so you can keep gear out of site and nice to go ahead and put the cover on when you have someone there then trying to do it alone.

Buy a custom cover and make sure it fits well. Nothing is worse than a cheap cover.

Thank you for all your input guys. I ended up going with a custom cover from boat covers . com. I got the Prism material which seems to be well rated (their second highest). We shall see when it comes in! I'm nervous on how well it's going to fit. For almost $400, I expect it to fit near perfectly! I'll post some pics and feedback when it comes in. Thanks again!
