i usuallly use power pro but was wondering how the new berkley line of braid is??

I use Power Pro as well, I wanna get around to try suffix 832 and seaguar kanzen

If your like me your always trying to find something better. There are good braids out there for higher prices, but I stick with the PP for the cost and I love how it casts, If it ain't broke don't fix it, its all I fish.

id pass on the berkley. most everyone finds themselves going back to powerpro after they try other stuff. however right now i have some sunline fx2 that i love.

Don't know about Berkley, but I use 10lb PP braid on my light spinning outfits and i've tried the 832 suffix, PP super slick, stick with the original power pro unless you want to constantly deal with wind knots. Oh, and Suffix is my choice for mono, no bias there.

If it's berkley pro braid don't even touch it, not sure about their other braids

I bought one spool of Trilene braid in 40lbs and it has been great. I have not been impressed by anything but Power Pro up this point but honestly can say I like the Trilene just as much if not more. If you like Power Pro when its brand new than you would probably like Trilene, but if you prefer the Power Pro after is broken in a little bit you may not like it.

 

Note that I am talking in terms of casting gear use. I prefer a slick line like Tuffline supercast/Nanofil/Super 8 on my spinning setups.

Haven't tried it, be interested to hear some reviews on it. I use Seaguar Smack Down and Daiwa Samurai.

I love PowerPro but I decided to try the new Seaguar Smackdown and so far it has not disappointed.  15lb test on my spinning rod.

i havent tried berkley braid but i love sunline fx2 thats my favorite braid now

I love the Trilene braid.

I've used PP, 832, Tuf Line, and FX2 for hundreds of trips.  FX2 is the best in the 40+lb range.  Regular PP for the smaller stuff.

I'm not sure what lb test you use or are looking for.  I only use heavy braid 65lb+.  The one I like is definitely not for everyone.  I use the Daiwa Samurai Braid in 70lb.  I use it for spooks with a leader, flipping in grass or any other heavy flipping/punching, frogs, buzzbaits anything I throw on braid I throw on 70lb samurai.  It is very limp and very round, almost feels like thread extremely smooth.  For some people they don't really like this and also report that it doesn't cut grass very well.  I was just never a fan of how braid felt.  I loved the non stretch and strength property for applications but hated the way it felt.  Daiwa was the answer to my problems but also it does get knots a little easier in my opinion and can also wrap around your rod tip easier.  It is also expensive comparitively, just wanted to give another option.
