I Know there can be a ton of variables and this may be the same as many of ya'lls all around favorite lures as well, but what is your go to lure and in what color  (i know that can vary as well) for the first time you fish a new body of water?

For ages this is what I use:

 

White & Chartreuse single Gold Tennessee blade spinnerbait

Gold or silver black back lipless crank

Black jig

Red Shad, watermelon gold flake, green pumkin red flake worm/grub/stickbait

 

Simple, now if I could only convince The BaitMonkey of that .....

White chartreuse spinnerbait. It covers water quickly and can be fished at any depth at any speed. 

Black/blue jig

buzzbait and crankbait and fish on appropriate structure. If Im on rip rap I have the crank out if woods the buzzer is out. Obviously its not a hardfast rule and Ill use each at both but those two are my favorite for searching.

Lipless crank

Conditions and structure dependent for me. However, nine times out of ten you'll find me with a crankbait (my confidence bait) in my hand on new or old water. I like being able to cover water quickly when I'm on a new lake and while I know many that throw spinnerbaits under that circumstance I feel more confident with a crankbait in my hands. Typically a Rapala Helsinkin Shad at that, DT 10 or 6.

Depending on conditions i usually use spinners (inline or spinner baits), cranks, and flipping jigs if there is thicker grass in the shallows. I flip last though since its more of a slower paced approach, but ill rip spinners and cranks on the edges and over top those weeds and if i see any movement ill try flipping.

Senkos and toads for me

The fat ika.  Chances are if it is a new spot I have not fished then the fish have not seen it.

Chrome blueback rattletrap

Zoom fluke. Heck that's my go to lure in any body of water. It's all about the confidence man!

Mine would be a shaky head with a zoom trick worm.
